What actually drives the price
Ez3dprint reads the real mesh of your STL and prices the job from it — no flat per-part guesses. Three inputs decide almost everything:
Material, by the gram
Filament is priced at roughly 6¢ per gram. A 50 g part uses about $3 of plastic. PLA is the cheapest; engineering filaments like carbon-fiber nylon cost more per gram.
Machine time
Printers charge for hours on the machine. Bigger parts, finer layer heights and tougher materials all print slower — a 0.10 mm layer height takes about twice as long as 0.20 mm.
Print settings
Infill is the biggest lever you control: going from 20% to 100% infill can nearly double material use. Supports add a small surcharge. Quantity multiplies everything — and unlocks bulk discounts.

- Ez3dprint quotes work out to roughly 6¢ per gram of filament, plus machine time. A 50 g part uses about $3 of material — the rest of the quote is machine time and setup. That's why two parts of the same weight can price differently: a tall, detailed print takes longer than a solid block of the same weight.
- What is the cheapest material to 3D print with?
- PLA is the cheapest filament and the easiest to print, which keeps machine time — and your quote — down. PETG costs about the same and is tougher. Specialty filaments like carbon-fiber nylon cost more per gram and print slower, so they raise both sides of the quote.
- How does the bulk discount work?
- The more you spend on printing in one order, the bigger the automatic discount: 3% off from $50, 5% from $100, 8% from $200 and 10% from $400 of printing. Add more models or increase the quantity and the discount applies to the whole order — no code needed.
- Is shipping included in the quote?
- Shipping is a flat $9.99 per order anywhere in the US, no matter how many models are in it. A 5% payment processing fee applies to the total. Everything is shown itemized before you pay — the quote you see is the final charge.
